General Ledger Accountant – Leuven
On behalf of our client, a fast-growing network active in the medical sector, headquartered in the Leuven area and expanding across Belgium and neighboring countries, we are currently recruiting a General Ledger Accountant to strengthen their finance team.
Responsibilities
- Manage the general ledger for multiple entities within the group, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals and provisions.
- Carry out monthly, quarterly and annual closings in line with group deadlines.
- Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
- Support VAT compliance and liaise with external tax advisors.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate with external auditors.
- Contribute to intercompany reconciliations and reporting across the group's entities.
- Support the continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
- Collaborate closely with the Finance team and other departments to ensure accurate, timely reporting.
Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a General Ledger or accounting role, ideally in a multi-entity environment.
- Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting principles and VAT regulations.
- Proficient with accounting software/ERP systems and Excel.
- Fluent in Dutch and/or French, with a good working knowledge of English.
- Analytical, precise, and comfortable managing deadlines.
- A team player who thrives in a dynamic, growing organisation.
