Application Architect / Functional Analyst Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Application Architect / Functional Analyst to support the modernization of a complex IT environment combining legacy systems with modern Cloud and hybrid architectures. You will help improve architecture, reduce technical debt, and ensure secure, scalable and maintainable solutions. Key Responsibilities Perform functional and technical analysis for business projects. Design and review application, data and integration architectures. Advise development teams on technologies, architectural patterns, performance and scalability. Lead design reviews and validate Proofs of Concept. Ensure compliance with architecture, security and development standards. Bridge communication between business, development, security and infrastructure teams. Analyse and resolve complex business and technical problems. Ensure consistency between legacy and modern systems. Apply Security by Design principles and translate NIS2 requirements into technical measures. Document architectural decisions and support knowledge sharing within teams. Requirements Strong experience in functional analysis and application architecture . Expert knowledge of modern Java, Spring, microservices, API-driven and event-driven architectures . Good knowledge of data modelling, data integration and data security . Strong experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL . Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills. Strong knowledge of Atlassian/Jira . Experience working within a federal public-sector environment is an advantage. Knowledge of security, compliance and NIS2 requirements. Languages: Dutch, French and English. Assignment
