This is a senior, globally focused position that sits at the intersection of international tax strategy, transfer pricing and tax risk management.

The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying and managing tax risks associated with major business initiatives, ensuring that tax strategies are commercially aligned, appropriately governed and defensible from a regulatory perspective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Global Tax Risk Management: Identify, assess and mitigate international tax risks associated with strategic initiatives, business transformations, restructurings and transfer pricing arrangements.
  • Tax Strategy & Governance: Review proposed tax structures and strategic initiatives before implementation, ensuring appropriate governance, controls and risk mitigation frameworks are established.
  • Transfer Pricing & Proactive Controversy Management: Support the development of strategies to proactively manage transfer pricing risks, including Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs), Mutual Agreement Procedures (MAPs) and tax rulings.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Tax Strategy, Transfer Pricing, Tax Controversy, Finance, Legal and Commercial teams to ensure alignment between tax objectives and business priorities.
  • Strategic Advisory & Decision-Making: Translate complex international tax matters into practical, commercially relevant recommendations that support senior leadership in making informed decisions.
  • Regional Tax Oversight: Act as the primary Tax Strategy contact for designated international regions, overseeing strategic tax initiatives and ensuring consistency with global policies and governance standards.
  • Stakeholder & External Adviser Management: Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, regional tax teams and external advisers, ensuring effective collaboration and execution of complex international tax projects.

Key Requirements

  • Experience: 10+ years of professional experience, including at least 7 years specialising in international tax, tax risk management, transfer pricing or a closely related discipline.
  • International Tax Expertise: Strong understanding of international tax principles, regulatory frameworks and the risks associated with complex multinational tax structures.
  • Tax Risk Management: Demonstrated experience identifying and managing tax risks, developing mitigation strategies and establishing appropriate governance or control frameworks.
  • Transfer Pricing & Controversy: Solid understanding of transfer pricing principles and proactive controversy management. Direct experience with APAs, MAPs or international tax rulings would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Commercial & Strategic Mindset: Ability to understand complex business operations, assess the commercial implications of tax decisions and translate technical matters into practical solutions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders, challenge constructively and drive decisions across different functions and geographies.
  • Professional Background: Experience within a multinational corporate environment or a leading international tax advisory firm. Candidates from both industry and professional services backgrounds will be considered.
  • Education & Languages: Degree in Finance, Economics, Tax or a related discipline, together with fluency in English. Additional qualifications and languages would be advantageous.
