Freelance Senior Automation Engineer | Belgium (Hybrid)

We're currently supporting an engineering company delivering advanced automation solutions for industrial environments. To support ongoing projects, we are looking for a Senior Automation Software Engineer on a freelance/consultancy basis.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of software-related activities and deliverables within automation projects.
- Develop, implement, test, install and maintain industrial automation software.
- Create and maintain software validation and testing documentation.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, procedures and project requirements.
- Act as the main point of contact for software-related questions, both internally and externally.
- Support efficient project execution with a focus on quality, cost and planning.
- Assist with commissioning and troubleshooting activities when required.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, project and operational teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Automation, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in industrial automation and software development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal.
- Proven PLC programming experience in SCL, STL and LAD.
- Good knowledge of SQL.
- Fluent English.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Schneider Drives.
- .NET knowledge.
- Dutch language skills.
Practical Information
- Freelance / Consultancy assignment.
- 3 days onsite per week in the Brussels region and two days ofHomeworking. xlxgzvr
