Position Summary

A Spencer Stuart Analyst plays a critical and visible role on the team, working closely with Associates, Senior Associates, and Consultants to understand client needs and gather relevant research that informs assignment strategy. Analysts produce industry and/or functional analysis reports, talent pool mappings, and other competitive intelligence for active searches, internal meetings, and new business initiatives. The analyst’s research and conclusions are incorporated into client‑ready documents, and over time the analyst is expected to develop industry expertise and maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the potential client’s industry, including value proposition, competitive landscape, strengths and weaknesses, stock performance, employee count, and other key metrics.
  • Synthesize information accurately so it can be incorporated into clean, client‑ready documents.
  • Maintain current awareness of news and issues related to key client engagements and market opportunities, and share insights in a timely manner with Associates, Consultants, and Executive Assistants.
  • Assist in high‑level name generation and talent mapping creation, contributing to long‑list creation by leveraging internal and external databases.
  • Participate in kick‑off meetings with Associates and Consultants to help develop the search strategy.
  • Directly assist Associates with search‑related tasks, such as developing a search strategy and target list.
  • Develop industry and/or functional expertise by staying informed about industry trends and leading or future leaders.

Ideal Experience

  • Recent university graduate or up to 2 years of business experience in a relevant professional services environment.
  • Strong academic performance; business or human capital related degrees preferred.
  • Demonstrated well‑roundedness through leadership experience in internships, work experience, community service, athletics, or student‑led organizations.
  • Advanced research, analysis, and synthesis skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English preferred.
  • Self‑directed, proactive, resourceful, team‑oriented, and tenacious.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Possesses necessary work authorizations for the country of application.
