Senior Optics Engineer

In this senior role, you will btake /b bend‑to‑end ownership of optical subsystems /b within innovative display projects from concept and technology selection to validation, industrialization and production support. You will combine strong technical expertise with a hands‑on mindset, helping us translate advanced optical technologies into reliable, high‑performance solutions for demanding avionics environments. /p h3Your responsibilities /h3 ul liYou design, develop and industrialize optical solutions for display applications, ensuring quality, performance and cost targets are met. /li liYou define specifications and concepts for optical subsystems (LCD, backlight, LED, etc.). /li liYou design, simulate and implement optical solutions. /li liYou test, debug and validate system performance (colorimetry, photometry). /li liYou work in a hands‑on lab and darkroom environment. /li liYou contribute to developments in µLED, eLED and projection technologies. /li liYou conduct optics studies, research and characterization activities. /li liYou translate emerging technologies into practical product solutions. /li liYou support and improve existing products. /li liYou manage obsolescence challenges throughout the product lifecycle. /li liYou ensure reliable and cost‑effective optical solutions. /li liYou transfer designs into production. /li liYou support manufacturing and resolve technical issues. /li liYou work according to development processes and design best practices. /li liYou act as technical owner of your subsystem and take a leading role in technical discussions and decision‑making. /li liYou collaborate with project managers, customers, international suppliers and multidisciplinary RD colleagues. /li liYou contribute actively within the RD team. /li liYou report to the RD Manager. /li /ul h3Your profile /h3 ul liYou hold a Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Optics, Applied Physics or equivalent through experience. /li liYou bring several years of relevant experience in optics, display technology, LED or light systems. /li liYou have experience taking ownership of technical developments from concept through industrialization and production. /li liYou have a strong understanding of optics, light behavior, colorimetry and photometry. /li liYou enjoy working across disciplines such as mechanics, electronics, software, firmware and manufacturing. /li liYou combine technical expertise with a hands‑on, pragmatic mindset. /li liYou are familiar with tools such as Matlab
