Interim Operations Director – Limburg (2+ years) A Belgian manufacturing group in Limburg are looking for an Interim Operations Director to oversee operations across their production sites in Belgium. The current Group Production Director is retiring at the end of the year, and they intend for a member of the team to take over the role from 2028/2029. The assignment is therefore focused on providing continuity while assisting in the coaching and mentoring of the junior member. You will oversee the Plant Managers and Head of Projects & Maintenance, ensuring that the leadership team is aligned, operational priorities are clear and agreed performance metrics are being achieved. The role has a senior management focus, with responsibility for providing direction across the sites rather than managing day-to-day production directly. Responsibilities
- Provide senior operational oversight across three production sites
- Manage and coach the Plant Managers and Head of Projects & Maintenance
- Ensure the site leadership teams are aligned on operational priorities, targets and ways of working
- Establish clear responsibilities, reporting structures and performance expectations across the production organisation
- Monitor operational KPIs and ensure agreed targets are being delivered
- Identify operational issues across the sites and provide direction on corrective actions
- Assess the organisation and production footprint and support decisions regarding the future structure of the sites Profile
- Senior management experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience overseeing multiple production sites or a multi-site production organisation
- Experience managing Plant Managers, Site Managers or other senior operational leaders
- Experience with automation, industrial technology and production improvement
- Understanding of maintenance and capital investment within a production environment
- Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities
- Dutch native speaker
