Position Summary Working under the supervision of the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer (or designee), the Compliance Counsel, EMEA, serves as a strategic legal partner responsible for designing, executing, and monitoring the corporate complianbce program across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. This role ensures that our commercial strategies, medical affairs activities, and regional operations adhere to international medical device regulations, data privacy directives, and anti-corruption laws. The role requires a proactive, pragmatic legal professional capable of mitigating risk in a matrixed, cross-border corporate environment. The role also oversees compliance training efforts across EMEA, develops tailored engagement strategies, and collaborates cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Clinical, Commercial, Finance, Internal Audit, and Legal/Compliance teams to support key initiatives and projects.

Key Responsibilities Compliance Program & Advisory

Provide compliance guidance to business partners on HCP/HCO/GO engagements, external funding, and related activities

Align business practices with regional industry ethical frameworks, including the MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice and specific national equivalents throughout EMEA

Serve as primary internal legal counsel to stakeholders in EMEA regarding antibribery and anticorruption matters, including the engagement of healthcare professionals to provide consulting services to the company and external HCOP-related grants and donations.

Oversee the continuous improvement and implementation of compliance processes and internal controls

Identify compliance risks and develop practical, business-oriented mitigation strategies and implement those strategies

Update the company on changes to relevant EMEA legislation and regulations and monitor industry enforcement trends in EMEA

Support data privacy initiatives impacting the EMEA region

Policy & Governance

Lead the development and implementation of global and EMEA compliance policies and procedures

Develop EMEA guidance documents and job aids to facilitate consistent application of requirements

In collaboration with the Regulatory Department, provide guidance regarding the on-label promotion of Company products.

Support governance forums, including Global and EMEA Compliance Committees

Transparency & Reporting

Oversee company efforts to collect, validate, and report transfer of value data as required in EMEA

Ensure timely submission of transparency reports in accordance with applicable laws, including:

U.S. Sunshine Act

French Sunshine Act

Italian transparency requirements

Other applicable EMEA regulations

Oversee publication of required disclosures in relevant platforms

Training & Engagement

Design and execute an annual EMEA compliance training plan aligned with global priorities

Oversee the delivery of targeted training programs based on risk exposure and role-specific needs

Oversee the delivery of engaging, audience-tailored content (digital, live, and hybrid formats)

Measure training effectiveness and report on participation, comprehension, and impact

Identify and implement innovative tools and technologies to enhance learning

Systems & Tools

Support implementation and maintenance of compliance-related systems, including:

Contracting and approval systems

Fair market value tools

Third-party due diligence platforms

Training and reporting systems

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Medical Affairs, Clinical, Commercial, Finance, Regulatory, and Legal teams to support compliance initiatives

Maintain strong stakeholder relationships across regions and functions

Additional Responsibilities

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned

Minimum Qualifications Education and Bar Admission

Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Laws (LL.M.), or equivalent degree from an accredited European or international law school.

Active qualification to practice law in at least one EMEA jurisdiction (e.g., Solicitor in England & Wales or Law Society of Ireland).
