We’re looking for a Dutch and English-speaking Health & Safety Lead to take ownership of safety performance at our Bornem Manufacturing Plant. In this high-impact role, you’ll partner closely with plant leadership, champion our Zero Harm philosophy, and ensure full compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

🎯 What We’re Looking For

Experience & Capability

  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety leadership role within manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of local HSE legislation and regulatory frameworks.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH qualification or Belgian Preventieadviseur Level 1, 2, or 3 certification (or equivalent)
  • Experience managing HSE systems, audits, and compliance processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and insights to drive safety improvements and corrective actions.
  • Experience leading incident investigations and implementing preventative measures.

🔑 Key Responsibilities May Include

  • Lead and maintain HSE management systems, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to plant leadership on all Health & Safety matters, including regulatory updates and risk mitigation.
  • Drive alignment with Absolute Safety First Rules and embed Zero Harm principles across all site activities.
  • Oversee emergency preparedness and day-to-day HSE operations, ensuring readiness and operational compliance.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through initiatives such as Learning Teams and Safety Differently practices.
  • Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and share learnings to drive continuous improvement across the network.
  • Monitor workforce training, competency development, and skills matrices to ensure capability and compliance.
  • Champion wellbeing initiatives, including safety campaigns and occupational health programmes.
  • Analyse HSE performance data, identifying trends and implementing targeted improvements.
