- Public Policy /h3 h3Location: /h3 pBrussels /p h3Employment Type: /h3 pRegular /p h3Job Code: /h3 pA /p h3Responsibilities /h3 h3Policy Expertise Intelligence /h3 ul liDevelop and maintain a deep, current understanding of TikTok's online safety policies, content moderation practices, and Trust Safety operations. /li liMonitor and analyse emerging policy trends, EU legislative developments, and regulatory initiatives in digital safety and content regulation (e.g., DSA, AI Act, CSAM regulation, Terrorist Content Online Regulation) as they relate to a video-sharing platform. /li liTranslate complex regulatory developments into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for senior internal stakeholders across Public Policy, Trust Safety, Legal, and Product teams. /li /ul h3Advocacy Position Development /h3 ul liLead the development of TikTok's public policy positions on platform safety and digital policy, ensuring alignment with the broader business and regulatory strategy. /li liDesign and execute evidence-based advocacy campaigns in Brussels that advance TikTok's policy objectives and demonstrate our commitment to user safety. /li liOrganise and convene high-impact events, roundtables, and briefings with policymakers, civil society, and industry peers. /li /ul h3Stakeholder Engagement Relationship Building /h3 ul liBuild and maintain world-class relationships with key EU institutional stakeholders, including Members of the European Parliament, European Commission officials, Council working party members, permanent representations, and influential think tanks. /li liCultivate strategic partnerships with business associations, civil society organisations, and academic institutions to amplify shared policy goals. /li liManage and coordinate relationships with external agencies, consultants, and trade associations to ensure cohesive, effective advocacy delivery. /li /ul h3Cross-Functional Collaboration Risk Management /h3 ul liAct as a bridge between the Brussels policy environment and TikTok's global teams, ensuring that product, engineering, and Trust Safety teams understand EU regulatory expectations and timelines. /li liSupport crisis preparedness and rapid response efforts on platform safety issues, working closely with Communications and Legal teams. /li liContribute to regulatory compliance narratives and transparency reporting aligned with EU requirements. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 h3Minimum Qualifications /h3 ul liSignificant experience working in public affairs in Brussels, with a proven track record of engaging EU institutions on digital policy or related regulatory matters. /li liExcellent understanding of EU regulatory and policy issues impacting video-sharing platforms in the areas of digital safety, content moderation, and online content regulation — an understanding of the e-commerce or marketplace sector is a plus. /li liStrong, established contact network in Brussels across the EU institutions and the broader stakeholder community (think tanks, civil society, trade associations). /li liExcellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to distil complex policy issues into clear, persuasive narratives for both political and corporate audiences. /li liPositive, solution-oriented mindset with a can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. /li liA self-starter who can work independently with minimal direction, while also highly valuing collaboration and relationship-building with teammates and cross-functional colleagues. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liProfessional experience working with or within digital content, video-sharing, or social media platforms, including familiarity with Trust Safety operations and content moderation at scale. /li liMultilingual capabilities (French and/or Dutch; additional EU languages are a strong asset) given the locality and nature of the work. /li liDirect experience engaging with the EU Commission's DSA enforcement activities, Code of Practice on Disinformation, or equivalent regulatory frameworks. /li liDemonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder campaigns with measurable policy outcomes. /li /ul h3Job Information /h3 h3About TikTok /h3 pTikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video.
