We are currently collaborating with 16 leading financial institutions across 6 European countries. Our digital solutions result in a +27% increase in digital customer conversion, +81% faster mortgage decisions, and a 90% first-time-right. Our software integrates seamlessly with core banking, CRM and online banking systems, offering a compelling and comprehensive service to borrowers.
A passionate and engaging team of over 45 stellar FinTech operators works vigorously to transform European mortgages by enhancing efficiency. Backed by Bessemer Venture Partners and Motive Ventures, our SaaS platform has raised EUR 14 million, placing Oper at the forefront of revolutionizing mortgages in Europe. Oper currently has offices in Zürich, Switzerland, and Antwerp, Belgium.
To support our current growth in Europe, we are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our team. The expected start date is July 1st.
Tasks**What you will do
**
As the first in-house accountant at Oper, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimising our financial operations. Reporting directly to our VP of Finance, you will take on the following responsibilities:
- Restructure and streamline accounting processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with external accountants to maintain compliance with local GAAP (BE, CH, UK) and regulatory standards.
- Manage accounts receivable/payable and enhance our expense management system (Spendesk).
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and reliability.
- Lead payroll processes and oversee year-end financial statement preparation (IFRS).
- Drive process automation and bring key accounting functions in-house to align with strategic goals.
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate finance requirements and improve system functionalities.
What you will bring
- You have a minimum of 3 years experience in accounting in agile, fast-paced environment (start-up, Big Four…). You comfortably navigate in multi-entity accounting structures.
- You are familiar with the Belgian accounting standards, Swiss and UK are a plus.
- You work detail-oriented and organized and are not afraid to handle multiple competing priorities at the same time. You can easily manage internal and external communication with various stakeholders in parallel.
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset, and flexibility toward dynamic change.
- Fluency in English, and German or Dutch, any other language is a plus.
