Nestled on Rue Royale in Notre Dame aux Neiges, this Belle Époque jewel, sculpted by Henri van Dievoet, has stood as a proud witness to the epochs and events that shaped Brussels. Now, the fabled Grand Hotel Astoria will re-emerge as Corinthia Brussels later in 2024, a beacon of elegance and luxury in the heart of the Belgian capital.

Following a meticulous restoration, Corinthia Brussels will marry the classical elegance of its storied past with sophisticated modern facilities including 126 rooms and suites, a gastronomic restaurant and brasserie, and 1000 square metres of wellness. Catering to discerning locals and luxury travellers, Corinthia Brussels will harmonise heritage with an avant-garde attitude.

As our future Waiter of the new Palais Royal Restaurant at the Corinthia Brussels, you will be responsible for delivering high standards of service during lunch or dinner. You will be part of a dedicated team who uplift lives of our guests through delivering exceptional experiences. This is an opportunity to learn and develop your knowledge of service, food and wine within a luxury restaurant.

With 2-star Executive Chef David Martin at the helm, we need passionate individuals who have a desire to grow within our business and help us achieve our aspirations for the Palais Royal Restaurant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide personalized and attentive service to guests in our restaurants, bars, and lounges, anticipating their needs and exceeding their expectations.
  • Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring that all dietary preferences and restrictions are accommodated with precision and care.
  • Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely and elegant manner, presenting dishes with flair and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of our menus, including ingredients, preparation methods, and recommended pairings, to provide informed recommendations and enhance the dining experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in dining areas, including tables, chairs, and service stations, to uphold our commitment to hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to coordinate the flow of service, ensuring seamless communication and efficient operations.
  • Handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns with professionalism and grace, resolving any issues promptly and effectively to uphold guest satisfaction.
  • Uphold the highest standards of personal grooming and presentation, always embodying the sophistication and elegance of Corinthia Brussels.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests and colleagues alike.

· Whist working for the Company there will be access to a wide variety of confidential information concerning the Company, guests and employees.

Health & Safety

· To be aware of and comply with safe working practices as stipulated by the Health and Safety Act and as applicable to your place of work. This will include the incumbent’s awareness of any specific hazards at the workplace.

· The wearing of appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Company will be obligatory.

· To report any defects in the building, plant or equipment according to hotel procedure.

· To ensure that any accidents to staff, guests or visitors are reported immediately in accordance with correct procedures.

· To attend statutory Fire, Health & Safety training and to be fully conversant with and abide by all rules concerning:

* Fire, Health and Safety

* Regulations, such as COHSS in the European Union, related to the control of substances hazardous to health.

* Risk assessments for your department

* Hotel Fire & Bomb Procedures

· As the hotel’s level of business varies considerably, there is a need for flexibility in attitude, approach and working hours.

TALENT PROFILE

Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred.

Skills & Knowledge:

-Strong communication skills, with fluency in English or French (additional languages are a plus).

-Exceptional customer care skills, with a genuine passion for providing memorable experiences to guests.

-Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the needs of our operation.

-Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, maintaining composure and professionalism at all times.

-Impeccable personal presentation, reflecting the sophistication and elegance of Corinthia Brussels.
