About the job:
Based in Mons, Belgium you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO's Digital Endeavour. You will join the NATO Digital Workplace Centre (NDWC), which is responsible for the Digital Workplace, covering operational NATO services, across all content classifications and security domains, for desktop computing, mail, instant messaging, video teleconference (VTC), content services platforms, telephony, printing and mobility services. NDWC responsibilities also cover the support of digital events, meetings and large-scale conferences for both the Agency and NATO stakeholders. NDWC also has the responsibility for driving the future roadmaps of these services across the NATO Enterprise to enable a NATO Digital Workplace through new services.
We are looking for driven and enthusiastic Engineers (Digital Collaboration – Voice & VTC) who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, service continuity and service improvement tasks on the NATO voice & VTC infrastructures;
- Systems design: follow standard approaches and established design patterns to create new designs for simple systems or system components for Voice and Video Teleconference Systems in NATO Enterprise and deployed networks;
- Systems integration and build: provide technical expertise to enable the configuration of system components and equipment for systems testing for Voice and Video Teleconference Systems in NATO Enterprise and deployed networks;
- Systems configuration: assist in designing, verifying, documenting, amending and refactoring moderately complex systems configurations for maintenance, upgrade, deployment for Voice and Video Teleconference Systems in NATO Enterprise and deployed networks;
- Systems support: follow agreed procedures to identify and resolve issues with Voice and Video Teleconference Systems in NATO Enterprise and deployed networks;
- Systems installation and removal: undertake or supervise complex installations and de-installations of systems or components, including handover to the client for Voice and Video Teleconference Systems in NATO Enterprise and deployed networks.
About you:
The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:
- Bachelor's degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience. Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate's particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post;
- At least 2 years' experience designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing collaboration tools and platforms within a digital ecosystem of an organization;
- Experience deploying communication and collaboration software (such as video conferencing systems, team messaging applications, and document sharing platforms);
- Proven experience in the configuration and operation of Voice and VTC core systems and end devices;
- Proven experience in deployment and configuration of security features in the voice and VTC domains (TLS, PKI, IPSec, etc.);
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to resolving QoS and technical issues in complex IP networks;
- Excellent knowledge of SIP, H.323 and PSTN signaling protocols;
- Good working knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies;
- Experience providing end users support;
- ITIL Foundation Certified;
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Note that the work is conducted mainly on site in Mons, Belgium.
