Project Coordinator Consultant - (36 months project-based) IRU is the global industry association for road transport, driving the sustainable mobility of people and goods across the planet. Reporting to the Director Certification & Standards, the Project Coordinator Consultant will be responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, and monitoring of the Modernising Road Transport project (IRU – DG INTPA Partnership). The role ensures that all activities are executed effectively, in alignment with IRU’s strategic objectives and EU-funded project requirements, to advance road transport efficiency, safety, professionalism, facilitation, and decarbonisation in partner countries. This will involve some travel to Central Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. RESPONSIBILITIES Project Management & Coordination Coordinate and supervise the planning, execution, and monitoring of all project activities under IRU’s leadership. Ensure timely delivery of outputs under each specific objective and maintain alignment with the approved work plan and budget. Oversee the work of consultants, subject matter experts (SMEs), and local partners, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to IRU standards. Manage internal coordination between IRU business lines (IRU Academy, TIR & Transit, Green Compact, Digitalisation) to ensure technical synergies. Liaise with DG INTPA and the Project Steering Committee for progress reporting, strategic discussions, and approval of deliverables. Technical Oversight Support diagnostic, feasibility, and reform assessments in target countries, ensuring sound methodologies and actionable recommendations. Provide guidance to ensure activities build upon existing standards and best practices and avoid duplication. Contribute technical input in areas such as driver and manager training, road safety, trade facilitation (TIR/e-CMR), and decarbonisation. Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships Facilitate cooperation between public authorities, private sector operators, and national associations in target countries. Support the formalisation of cooperation through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with local partners. Promote public-private dialogue to enhance professionalisation and market integration. Monitoring, Reporting & Communication Establish and maintain monitoring systems using SMART indicators to track progress across project components. Prepare annual progress reports, including updates on KPIs, risks, and lessons learned. Support visibility and dissemination through IRU’s global communication channels, ensuring compliance with EU visibility guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE University degree in Transport Policy, Logistics, International Development, Economics, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in international project management, ideally within EU-funded or donor-funded programmes. Proven experience coordinating multi-country capacity-building or policy reform projects in the transport or logistics sector. Familiarity with road transport governance, training and certification systems, trade facilitation, or sustainable mobility. Experience working with public-private partnerships (PPPs) and industry associations is highly desirable. => Please attach your motivation letter (in English) along with your resume in one .pdf document.
