What you will do
- Administer, maintain and optimise IBM DS8000 storage environments.
- Support high availability and resilient storage services within a z/OS environment.
- Design, implement and maintain GDPS-based disaster recovery and recovery strategies.
- Monitor storage capacity, performance and availability and anticipate future requirements.
- Investigate and resolve storage-related incidents and contribute to root-cause analysis.
- Protect data integrity and support adherence to security and operational controls.
- Work closely with mainframe, infrastructure and other IT teams to maintain reliable storage services.
- Contribute to storage improvements, migrations and infrastructure optimisation.
What you bring
- 8+ years of experience in mainframe infrastructure, storage engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience administering IBM DS8000 storage.
- Solid experience working with IBM z/OS environments and mainframe storage.
- Practical experience with GDPS, disaster recovery and high-availability solutions.
- Strong understanding of storage capacity planning, performance, availability and data integrity.
- Experience troubleshooting complex storage infrastructure issues.
- Ability to work effectively with mainframe specialists and wider IT teams.
- Strong communication skills and a structured, service-oriented approach.
