Senior Penetration Test Engineer (Infrastructure & Application) Brussels – On-site - Long mission Financial sector – Critical infrastructureWe are looking for a Senior Penetration Test Engineer to support infrastructure and application penetration testing within a highly regulated financial environment, in full alignment with the DORA TLPT framework. MissionThe objective is to:Identify vulnerabilities in new and existing infrastructures, applications and systemsIdentify design and implementation weaknessesAssess inter-application flowsValidate technical and business security measures, including fraud prevention controls Penetration testing scopeTarget environments include, but are not limited to:Windows, Linux, SolarisCloud, on-premise and hybrid infrastructuresIndustrial Control Systems (ICS) / SCADAWeb applications, fat clientsAPIs and micro-service architecturesHost-based auditsSocial engineering testing (when approved) Testing scenariosSource: internal (corporate networks) and external (Internet)Approach: white-box, grey-box and black-boxMethodology: from cautious (discovery, enumeration, vulnerability mapping) to aggressive (exploitation, denial of service), subject to approvalTechnique: primarily network-based testing (host-based testing and social engineering are not part of this testing type by default) Required profileMinimum 10 years of professional experience as an infrastructure and application penetration testerMinimum 5 years of experience with critical infrastructuresPreferably experience in the banking / financial sectorStrong experience in pentesting and red teaming️ Technical skillsSecurity & NetworkingNetwork technologies (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Fibre Channel, Bluetooth) and in-depth protocol knowledgeAuthentication mechanisms (user and machine)Encryption techniquesKnowledge of well-known attacks and techniques to defeat security controlsNetwork design and architectureDefence-in-depth security principlesSystems & ArchitecturesOperating systems: Windows, Linux, SolarisCloud services (Microsoft stack)Cloud architecture and principlesOn-premise, cloud and hybrid topologiesMicro-services architecturesEnterprise Service Bus (including API gateways)Proprietary systems and protocols, including ICS and SCADAApplications & DevelopmentSecure application developmentProgramming languages: Java and Microsoft .NETDatabases (Microsoft SQL, Oracle)Middleware (Web Application Servers, ESB, ETL, analytics platforms)Scripting: Bash, Python, PowerShell Soft skillsTeam playerStrong communication skillsAbility to work independentlyHigh level of discretionCurious mindset LanguagesEnglish: Full professional proficiencyFrench: Full professional proficiencyDutch: Full professional proficiency
