Senior Underwriter Liability

A leading insurance company is looking for a Senior Underwriter Liability. If you are looking for a new career opportunity, join the company in its offices in Brussels.In this role you will report to the Director Casualty Department.
Your main responsibilities as new Senior Underwriter Liability will be:
- Manage and develop a designated insurance portfolio for both local and international clients, ensuring profitability of current policies and creating proposals for new risks
- Proactively handle cases using a technical-commercial approach within your underwriting authority
- Evaluate, analyze, and decide on accepting or pricing proposed risks according to company policies, significantly contributing to portfolio health
- Assess and handle alternative risk transfer requests and related processes beyond traditional requests
- Oversee the tender process for public bids, managing everything from initial requests to quotations and follow-ups
- Act as the main contact for your portfolio, approaching it proactively to ensure its profitability and stability
- Strengthen business relationships between the company and brokers
- Report complex cases to management and actively participate in meetings to keep them informed of portfolio status and developments
- Accurately and timely input policies, attachments, and risk information into company systems and tools, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and deadlines
- Participate in internal studies and working groups on new projects and products within the company
About you:
- You have a Master's degree or equivalent experience
- You have at least 3 years' experience in an insurance company as a Liability and/or Cyber underwriter
- You have commercial acumen, strategic vision and a strong sense of responsibility
- You have strong analytical skills, are able to think creatively and are prepared to offer customers a tailor-made solution
- You have good communication skills
- You are fluent in Dutch, French and English
- You have a good general knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and other common IT tools
