Join a well established Consultancy Client who are seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join them. Building trusted, long-term relationships with both clients and colleagues is central to the culture.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyse tenders and bids with a strong focus on mechanical, electrical and process (MEP) packages to ensure best value for clients.Support the resolution of construction disputes and the assessment of loss and expense claims related to MEP installations in a transparent and professional manner.Lead, mentor and develop team members, fostering high performance and professional growth within MEP cost management.Assist in the preparation, negotiation and agreement of final accounts, including the assessment of MEP-related claims to ensure value for money.Develop detailed cost plans and estimates for major developments, with particular emphasis on MEP scope.Prepare and issue cost reports and supporting documentation, ensuring timely and clear communication to enable informed decision-making.Actively contribute throughout the tender process, from preparation of documentation through to bid analysis and reporting, with a focus on MEP systems.Monitor and manage project expenditure by preparing valuations and cost reports, clearly identifying and communicating variations within the MEP scope.About YouWe would welcome applications from candidates who:Are experienced MEP cost managers with a background in large-scale, complex construction projects, ideally within consultancy environments and sectors such as data centres, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, or heavy industrial developments.Possess strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and/or process systems and installations.Hold a degree or equivalent professional experience in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.Are confident and effective communicators, both verbally and in writing.Are currently based in, or willing to relocate to, the local region and already have the legal right to work.Thrive in fast-paced environments, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
