Freelance IT Cloud (Hybrid) Engineer - SME Migration with Start UpWe are seeking an experienced IT Cloud Engineer to support an SME migration project with a fast-growing start-up in the chemical sector. The role will focus on designing, migrating, and supporting workloads across a hybrid cloud environment (on-premise and cloud), ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure to meet business and compliance requirements.ResponsibilitiesSupport the migration of IT infrastructure and applications from SME environments into a hybrid cloud setup.Configure, deploy, and manage cloud services (Azure/AWS/GCP) alongside on-prem resources.Assist with network integration between on-prem and cloud (VPN, ExpressRoute, firewalls).Automate infrastructure provisioning with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, or CloudFormation).Support containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) for scalable deployments.Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies.Monitor system performance, security, and compliance across hybrid environments.Collaborate with the start-up's IT, security, and compliance teams to meet chemical industry standards.Document architecture, migration processes, and operational runbooks.RequirementsProven experience as a Cloud Engineer / Systems Engineer with hybrid cloud environments.Hands-on expertise with Azure and/or AWS cloud services.Experience with on-prem to cloud migrations for SMEs or enterprise workloads.Strong knowledge of networking, firewalls, and hybrid connectivity.Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.Linux/Windows administration and scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python).Additional Details:START DATE: ASAP (can wait notice period)DURATION: Long termCONTRACT: FreelanceONSITE POLICY: Hybrid HOURS PER WEEK: 40LANGUAGES: English + (Dutch or French a bonus)INTERVIEW PROCESS: One stageIf you are interested or know anyone who could be a good fit please send your CV to matthew@Kodastaff.com
