VITO is een gangmaker in de duurzaamheidstransitie voor zowel industrie als overheden in binnen- en buitenland. We staan onze klanten met raad en daad bij in hun zoektocht naar werkbare oplossingen voor de vraagstukken van vandaag en morgen. Binnen onze water- en energietransitie unit werken meer dan 250 professionals aan oplossingen voor complexe uitdagingen in het water- en energiedomein. In het domein digitaal water ontwikkelen we state-of-art modellen, data infrastructuur en software waarmee onze klanten in de water sector aan de slag kunnen om hun operationeel beheer te verbeteren. Voorbeelden van projecten zijn de voorspellingen van waterstanden en waterkwaliteit, slimme sturingen, en grootschalig databeheer met sensoren.
In deze functie als business developer digitaal water zorg je mee voor de uitbouw en groei van de digitale productportfolio voor onze klanten. Je verkent en analyseert de markt, en bouwt duurzame relaties op met onze partners en klanten. Als business developer werk je nauw samen met een team van R&D water professionals, en maak je deel uit van een team van business developers voor water- en energietransitie.
- Je evalueert toekomstige noden van de markt en hebt inzicht in de verschillende business modellen voor vermarkting van software producten en diensten. Je legt contacten met toekomstige klanten.
- Je anticipeert op toekomstige behoeften en vertaalt deze naar specificaties voor het opzetten van innovatieve diensten of producten.
- Je volgt tenders en onderzoekscalls op en werkt met de onderzoeksteams aan een wervend projectvoorstel.
- Je onderhoudt de klantenrelaties en volgt de uitvoering van projecten mee op naar timing en oplevering.
- Je werkt nauw samen met een multidisciplinair team van onderzoekers (technologen, economen, sociologen, data-experten, …)
- Je stemt af met andere business developers vanuit een team- en unit-overschrijdende aanpak.
- Je zorgt in samenspraak met je collega’s voor een vlot commercieel proces binnen de unit
- Je behaalde een master in de wetenschappen of (bio)ingenieurswetenschappen, de economische en toegepaste economische wetenschappen
- Je hebt ervaring in een ICT context en de ontwikkeling en vermarkting van data- en software producten.
- Je hebt connecties in het waterdomein en ervaring met de werving van projecten en het opzetten van duurzame klantrelaties.
- Je beschikt over een uitgebreid netwerk, relevant voor de verdere uitbouw van je portfolio.
- Je beheerst het Nederlands en het Engels, mondeling en schriftelijk.
- Je bent communicatief sterk.
- Je bent zowel mondeling als schriftelijk in staat om ons onderzoek en dienstenaanbod helder te presenteren en te rapporteren.
