Operational Risk Officer – Freelance ConsultantIndustry: Insurance & Financial ServicesLocation: Brussels (on-site)Duration: 12 months, extension possibleStart: 05/01/2026RoleSupport operational risk and business continuity activities within a leading player in the insurance and financial services industry. You will work across departments on risk analyses, continuity planning and regulatory reporting.ResponsibilitiesIntegrate continuity aspects into project risk assessments (outsourcing, AI, EoD, IT).Consolidate Business Impact Analyses and identify improvement needs.Lead stakeholder workshops to define and maintain continuity and exit plans.Support optimisation and automation of ORM tools and processes.Develop dashboards for various management levels.Conduct quality checks and prepare regulatory reports.Provide analyses and responses regarding operational risks.ProfileMaster’s degree or equivalent experience.Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills.Solid writing and reporting abilities.Fluent in Dutch or French + very good English.Experience2–5 years in Project Management and Business Continuity.Experience with IT systems, AI and digitalisation.Plus: Operational Risk, Third-Party Management, SharePoint, MS Dynamics.Mandatory: experience in insurance or financial sector + DORA knowledge.
