As part of the organizational principles and responsibilities of PPS EU, and with the aim of better controlling compliance risks, the Compliance team must provide the organization with assurance about the degree of control over its operations from a compliance point of view.

The Compliance - Data Correspondent reports to the Risk Operational Manager.

The role requires a good business understanding of the products and their subsequent impact on compliance, as well as an interest in evolving industry and technical developments driven by PSD2.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Verify compliance with rules relating to PPS EU's activities and ensure compliance with regulatory rules of integrity and conduct.
  • Integrate compliance principles into the company's culture and establish guidelines for compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor new legislation and regulations and their interpretation in the area of compliance.
  • Ensure that operational departments comply with legal and regulatory rules of integrity and conduct.
  • Advise management and operational departments on practical application of laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Advise on the development and updating of compliance policies and measures to control compliance risks.
  • Participate in deliberations on change requests for products, focusing on compliance risks.
  • Evaluate PPS EU's compliance procedures and propose necessary changes.
  • Develop quality improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with internal rules.
  • Participate in drawing up the compliance action plan based on methodical risk analysis.
  • Further deploy the GDPR map – Data Correspondent.
  • Monitor and report on Compliance MIS and KPI.
  • Develop and operate controls for effective management of compliance risk mitigation measures.
  • Maintain the company's Compliance Risk Register, clearly identifying each risk.
  • Assist in producing and filing all regulatory compliance reports.
  • Embed a compliance culture in the company and its agents' day-to-day activities.

Skills & Experience

  • Legal training/certificates.
  • Demonstrable compliance expertise and experience in a similar position.
  • Strong knowledge of PSD2 & GDPR.
  • Compliance Officer Certification (support for obtaining Belgian certification if needed).
  • Knowledge of payment and/or financial industry regulations, mainly in Belgium.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and assertiveness.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Languages: fluency in French or Dutch, with a good knowledge of English.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Payments schemes and technology awareness and interest.
  • Results-oriented.
