Good Morning Belgium, We are looking for a Senior Compliance Officer with 5+ years of experience for a mission in ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory and ethical standards. You will play a key role in advising the business, monitoring regulatory developments, and supporting the organisation in maintaining a robust compliance framework, with a specific focus on sanctions and embargoes. Responsibilities Regulatory Monitoring: Track national and international regulatory developments and identify impacts on internal policies. Policy & Procedure Development: Translate legal and regulatory requirements into clear internal procedures and operational guidance. Compliance Oversight: Monitor and assess adherence to compliance procedures across the organisation. Advisory Support: Provide guidance to business units, branch network, central services and local compliance teams. Sanctions & Embargoes Expertise: Analyze and advise on individual cases related to sanctions screening and cross-border restrictions. Training & Awareness: Raise staff awareness through communication, training and workshops. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to strengthening the compliance culture and risk management processes. Candidate Profile Education & Experience Degree in Law (mandatory). 5+ years of experience in Compliance within the financial sector. Strong expertise in Financial Crime Compliance, particularly Sanctions & Embargoes. Previous experience advising on case-by-case file analysis. Analytical & critical thinking Independent decision-making Process and result-oriented Effective communication & stakeholder management Ability to train and facilitate group sessions Eager to learn and continuously improve English: Full professional proficiency (required) Dutch or French: An asset, but not mandatory
