About the Role
This role offers you the chance to delve deep into the dynamic realm of IP regulations and litigations. It's a fast-paced beat where you'll be expected to break impactful news and provide forward-looking analysis. You'll be leading the coverage of intellectual property matters in Europe, collaborating closely with colleagues in different bureaus as part of the broader intellectual property team.
Responsibilities
- Producing and breaking exclusive news stories daily
- Quickly delivering urgent news articles
- Offering in-depth reporting and commentary, identifying risks associated with legislations
- Conducting comprehensive investigative pieces with significant impact
- Mentoring junior team members and giving constructive feedback
- Working collaboratively with the broader intellectual property team
Requirements
- Experience in news writing for a daily newspaper or online outlet
- Background in business journalism, with a focus on intellectual property in the EU. Extensive network of sources across EU institutions, industries, and law firms
- Journalism qualification preferred but not mandatory at a degree level
- Proficiency in French and/or German languages
