(Senior) Scientist for solid formulation of novel oral modalities**In the Oral Solid Development department in Beerse, Belgium, we are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated colleague who shares our ambition to develop break-through products based on orally available versions of peptides, proteins and other modalities currently typically delivered via parenteral injection.
NOMADd's ambition is to develop new formulation concepts for oral delivery of macromolecules and non-conventional small molecules, and our tasks comprise activities of formulation and coordination within pre-formulation, biopharmaceutics, biophysics, analysis, DMPK and generation of intellectual property.
As a scientist within NOMADd your main objective will be to focus on formulation of peptides, therapeutic proteins and other macromolecules into oral solid dosage forms.
You will design and develop novel oral drug delivery systems, scout the external landscape for innovative solutions and oversee ongoing collaborations.
You will identify opportunities for innovation and follow-up on literature (scientific and patent).You will be involved in planning and execution of formulation activities, such as small-scale preparation of tablets, encapsulation, GI-targeting, etc.
The formulation work will be done in close collaboration with other scientists as well as with our experienced laboratory technicians.
You will work closely together with Pharmacology, Analysis, DMPK and other R&D teams. You will contribute to intellectual property, and ensure an accurate planning, knowledge sharing & troubleshooting. Education:
- You must hold a relevant PhD, preferably in Pharmaceutical Technology, and at least 23 years of relevant experience.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- Previous Industry experience is a plus.
- You have obtained profound knowledge of oral formulations and oral drug delivery.
- You must possess significant knowledge about oral drug delivery technologies and deep insight in the GItract physiology as well as insights into relevant animal models employed for oral drug delivery.
- It is essential that you have an excellent track record of original research within oral drug delivery.
- It will be an advantage if you have experience with patents or from an R&D setting and/or specific knowledge of oral delivery of macromolecules combined with pharmaceutical formulation experience.
- You have a flexible mindset which is helpful in the everchanging project environment.
To make your ideas practical, you must possess a certain amount of innovation and creativity and be able to think and act unconventionally.
- As you will work in an international organisation, you will need good network and interaction abilities and very good English skills both written and spoken.
- Key elements of success are innovation, customer focus, teamwork, international networking and building up the scientific knowledge/expertise.
