Our client, a chemical company in Antwerp Linkeroever is looking for a scientist product development
Tasks:
- Develop innovative new products, in accordance with Innovation Group initiatives and projects.
- Function as lead researcher and manage development projects for technologically sophisticated products to successful implementation. Interest in sustainability, circularity and green chemistry is highly desirable.
- Experience in polymer chemistry and organic synthesis. Experience in synthesis at pilot level (1 2 kg or higher) is desired.
- Knowledge of typical characterization techniques including DSC, DMTA, GPC, FTIR, NMR is required.
- Actively contribute to ideation and development of intellectual property. Perform literature searches and maintain an overview of new developments in the field to define new projects.
- Identify gaps between internal capabilities and new product's requirements. Excellent problem solving skills.
- Develop, nurture and utilize network of technical experts from current and potential markets, customer bases and suppliers, and universities and technical institutes to identify emerging issues and technologies.
- Maintain high level of knowledge and awareness of regulatory standards and regulations. Gather technical intelligence by reading published literature, patents and press releases and attending conferences and tradeshows.
- Actively cooperate and communicate with all internal functions and resources, particularly R&D, Business Development, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Engineering in order to leverage internal synergies.
- Conduct specification and feasibility analysis on new products.
- Present project updates using PowerPoint and other presentation software. Regular reporting in English is required. Knowledge of Project Management is desired.
- Performance of other duties as required by supervisor.
- Conduct business activities in accordance with Company policy, EHSQ, and Business Ethics.
Wie zoeken wij voor R&D scientist?:
- PhD degree in Polymer Chemistry or related field. Masters with relevant experience are also considered.
- Experience in a product development role is preferable.
- Experience with creative problem solving techniques or experience in Project Management is desirable.
- Ability to work and communicate in an office, professional lab environment and a plantmanufacturing environment.
- Travel may be required as needed with mínimal global travel.
- Good English oral and written communication skills are required
- Must be able to maintain a clear sense of perspective, seeing different aspects of a problem and then focusing on the key issues.
- Prioritization of tasks and ability to manage own assignments on schedule and in accordance with the projects.
