**US Army in Belgium is an American government agency whose mission is to provide logístical and administrative support to the US personnel at NATO and SHAPE in Belgium.

- Plan, coordinate, and conduct activities for program participants based on observed needs of individual children and youth.
- Implement activities and special events that meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of children and youth.
- Help prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedules.
- Prepare and implement program options for children and youth with special requirements.
- Interact professionally with staff members, parents, and local installation command personnel. Participate in conferences with parents and staff.
- Supervise children and youth during daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities and on field trips, outings, and special events.

- Ability to carry out activities that promote children cognitive development
- Skill in working with children and providing instruction
- Ability to meet and deal effectively with people
- Knowledge of early childhood principles and caregiving techniques.
- Ability to communicate in English (both written and verbal).
Education
Applicants must possess a High Secondary School AND demonstrate at least one year of job-related experience.
Job-related experience is experience in dealing with children and infants (for example, arranging festive occasions with and for children; supervising children and youth during daily schedules of indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings and special events; arranging for and serving appropriate snacks and meals to children; assisting children and youth with special projects, homework, and life skills).
The experience may have been gained in childcare centers, day nurseries, kindergartens, pediatric clinics, summer camps, youth clubs, and in Families with infants.
To be creditable, demonstrated specialized experience must be equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation within the organization.
Creditable experience may have been gained inside or outside the U.S. Forces. To be creditable, experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (BA-03).Substitution of Education:
Education levels 3 (Bachelor or equivalent) and 4 (Master or equivalent) may be substituted for experience. Applicants must have successfully completed an education in a field related to the position being filled.
