EURACTIV has an original business model, based on five elements (corporate sponsoring, Euractor membership, advertising, EU projects, and content syndication).
To strengthen our editorial team in Brussels, we are currently recruiting a Journalist to cover foreign affairs, defence, development aid.
Main responsibilities:
- Write breaking news stories, interviews, as well as indepth and background articles for a
- Write indepth policy briefings and special reports to deadline
- Conduct interviews with highlevel officials, including Commissioners, MEPs, business
- Moderate events, both facetoface and online
- Identify topics for interactive debates
- Contribute to meeting EURACTIV's editorial mission and commitment to balanced reporting
Profile:
- At least two years of experience in journalism, preferably with focus in foreign affairs or a
- University degree in journalism and/or political science
- Strong Englishlanguage writing skills with journalistic portfolio as well as interest in
- Deep knowledge of EU policies
- Other nonEuropean languages such as Arabic or Chinese, and especially regional country
- Ability to deliver accurate stories in a fastpaced environment and respect tight deadlines
- Hardworking, entrepreneurial, teamplayer
- Online/mobile publishing, social media, and information management experience
- Interested in working as an independent contractor
