YOUR TASKS
As a postdoctoral researcher you will be responsible for the development, optimization and validation of a method for high-precision Nd isotopic analysis of "critical raw materials" based on the use of multi-collector ICP mass spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS) in the framework of the Horizon Europe project MaDiTraCe.
Multi-element analysis with ICP mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and carrying through isotopic analysis of other elements based on a described protocol will also be part of the assignment.
Finally, the assignment also includes a contribution to the administrative and logístical aspects related to the participation in the MaDiTraCe project and to internal and external reporting of the results obtained.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You hold thesisbased doctorate (PhD) preferably in the fields of (analytical) chemistry, geochemistry or geology.
- You have experience with isotopic analysis via multicollector ICP mass spectrometry (MC-ICPMS) or thermal ionization mass spectrometry (TIMS) and the corresponding sample preparation.
- You can express yourself fluently orally and in writing in English.
- You are interested in the applied scientific research described and are prepared to report on this in writing (including articles in peerreviewed scientific journals) and orally (including lectures at conferences).
- You work in a systematic and orderly manner, also with regard to the administrative aspects of the project.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
- We offer you a contract of definite duration for a period of 2 years
- Your contract will start on 1/04/2023 at the earliest.
- Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master's degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate). Click here for more information about our salary scales.
