Transport Solutions Engineer

At Volvo, we're moving towards a new assembly direction with the introduction of electric trucks in 2023 and the prospect of building various new truck models in the future. Our vision is to implement Mixed Model Assembly (MMA) by constructing all products (diesel, electric, LNG, hydrogen, etc.) on the same assembly line. To achieve this, we are in need of innovative tools to assess our assembly process. Our goal is to develop a new tool that can visualize and analyze both the operator's occupancy and the truck's occupancy. Through this tool, we aim to gain insights into our current operations and determine the most optimal process to facilitate MMA in the future.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Process assemblage data to generate actionable insights for the new tool
  • Build the tool with a focus on analysis and visualization
  • Integrate line control data to provide a real-time view of the line status
  • Analyze results, draw conclusions, and propose process optimization strategies
  • Feel free to suggest extensions to the project scope
