As the Director of Quality and Food Safety (Q&FS) within Greenyard's Frozen Division, you'll spearhead an international team focused on ensuring top-notch quality and safety standards. This role places you at the helm of the Q&FS function, integrated into the Frozen Management Team. Reporting directly to the Group Quality Health and Safety Director and functionally to the Managing Director Frozen, you'll hold a pivotal position in steering the division's Q&FS initiatives.
With your divisional Q&FS team, based in Roeselare, you'll oversee a highly skilled Q&FS team spanning multiple locations in Belgium, the UK, France and Poland. Your primary accountability lies in crafting and implementing processes that guarantee food safety and unwavering product quality.
Your key-objectives:
- Drive the strategy and agenda for Quality and Food Safety across the Frozen Division
- Establish a clear vision, objectives and management frameworks for Q&FS within the Frozen Division, aligning them with both divisional needs and Greenyard's Group vision for Q&FS
Your responsibilities will be:
- Leading Q&FS efforts to define and execute a vision based on industry best practices, ensuring consistent, high food quality and safety standards across production and supply chains.
- Translate the group quality vision and goals towards the frozen division and operate within the group quality framework
- Leverage data and metrics to steer strategic decisions, offering actionable insights through comprehensive reporting and management reviews.
- Serve as the divisional crisis coordinator for issues related to quality and food safety.
- Proactively drive continuous improvement in processes related to quality and food safety, aligning with business goals and nurturing the development of quality teams.
- Overseeing and orchestrating standardization projects and establishing quality management systems in compliance with GFSI standards.
- Translate monthly quality reports on divisional level, effectively managing and monitoring local KPI's.
- Visit the local factories to gain deeper insights, identifying opportunities and focusing on critical areas.
- Act as a role model for Greenyard's values of Passion, Entrepreneurial, Reliable, Creative and Sharing and instill values in the team.
Nice to meet you
- You have approximately 15 years of experience, including a few years as a senior quality manager or equivalent, in the food industry, in a multicultural and corporate environment.
- You have a proven track record as a Q&FS Manager, leading teams as a senior manager.
- You have knowledge of food industry and FMCG and its industry standards. Knowledgeable about at least a significant number of aspects of Food Safety and/or Food Fraud and Food Defence, current Good Manufacturing and Sanitation Practices, Environmental Microbiological Monitoring, Microbiology and Hygienic Design
- You are a Master Bio-Engineer, Master Applied Biosciences, Master Food Technology or equivalent.
- You have a strong understanding of microbiological quality control and environment control.
- You demonstrated achievements in standardization projects and in setting up quality management systems in compliance with GFSI standards.
- You have strong Project Management skills and have led significant projects successfully.

- You are seeking a hybrid, fulltime position, you will be preferably based in Roeselare (BE) as this is the home base of the divisional Frozen Teams. You can be based in one of our other locations, in which case you will be expected to be present in Roeselare very frequently, which will add to the traveling
- You have an excellent knowledge of Dutch and English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of French and/or Polish is a plus.
- You are proficient in MS Office – experience or familiarity in working with ERP systems, is a plus.
