POLITICO Live is seeking a Summits Associate / Manager starting in July/August 2023 to produce and execute high-profile, newsworthy Summits programs.
The Summits Associate / Manager position is a mid-level position responsible for producing the programs of POLITICO summits, as well as recruiting and managing top level speakers, drafting content for our marketing communications, managing the regular communication with events sponsors and coordinating the successful delivery of the event with the operations manager.
As Summits involve cross-platform elements (print and online) and the input of many different constituents, the Summits Associate / Manager interacts with colleagues from a wide range of departments across the company, including Editorial, Sales, Marketing and Logistics.
What You'll Do
Program development:
- Work with Live editor and produce summits programs that are aligned with the newsroom and market needs
- Prepare business plans including competitors' landscape and industry trends
- Ensure that event programs are produced/signed off to deadline and are briefed to marketing and sales team to deadline
Speakers' recruitment and management:
- Working closely with the Summits Portfolio Manager and the Live editor to recruit and manage speakers
- Prepare invitation templates and send speakers invites
- Set up and lead speakers presummit briefing calls and post summits communications
- Manage speaker liaison throughout the project development and onsite at the summit
- Create and update the summits microsites, apps etc.
- Ensure a constant update of the database throughout the production process
Logistics:
- Work closely with the LIVE Operations Manager to ensure a smooth delivery of highquality events
- Prepare notes and detailed agenda for event moderators
- Coordinate stage set up, catering, badges, distribution materials, hosts/esses
- Prepare all the necessary materials to deliver a smooth event
- Manage summits delegate app content
Marketing support:
- Prepare marketing briefs
- Manage relationships with visibility partners
What You'll Need
- 12 years of professional experience, proven track record in events / project management
- Great organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to liaise with, and coordinate, high number of stakeholders
- Selfmotivation and determination with a strong sense of personal initiative
- Composure under pressure
- News savvy, enthusiastic about digital journalism and the political sphere
- Deep commitment to deliver our events as an extension of our journalism and up to POLITICO's high standards
- Written and verbal fluency in English required; knowledge of other languages appreciated
