The Associate Director, Scientific Leader mRNA Drug Product (DP) Process Development is an individual contributor who is expected to function independently as an expert in his/her field and to function as a leader of scientific matrix teams.
Job Purpose:
The Associate Director, Scientific Leader mRNA DP Process Development is an individual contributor role that includes, as business needs dictate, responsibility for:
- Serving as a scientific expert in DP process development.
- Collaboration with key stakeholders internally and externally to implement new cross business initiatives
- Matrix leadership of diverse scientific TRD teams, associated TRD partners and external collaborators, including joint ventures and third parties.
- Partnering with various external parties by sharing information and resources across multiple levels to establish new programs.
- Building excellent relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Able to lead large employee events/meetings fostering collective working across multiple teams/groups.
- Mentoring less experienced colleagues to upskill and transfer knowledge
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead scientific matrix or innovation workstreams, functional subteams or crossfunctional initiatives
- Serve as a Technical Development Team member for complex projects or for projects in the Scientific Leader's areas of expertise
- Independently manage research and development workstreams and communicate to stakeholders within and outside TRD
- Lead or conduct laboratory work requiring high level of expertise and autonomy
- Solve significant issues that potentially threaten project critical path
- Responsible to escalate issues that threaten project critical path to management as appropriate
- Author regulatory source reports, coauthor/review regulatory submissions
- Lead the creation of funding proposals for resources and CAPEX to achieve scientific workstream milestones
- Foster academic and other collaborations to gain access to innovative technologies
- Communicate effectively through presentations and publications to the external scientific community
_ Why you? _:
Qualifications & Skills:
- Engineer, M.Sc. in Biochemistry, Lifescience, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Chemistry or similar, or B.Sc. with relevant experience.
- At least 10 years' experience in the Pharmaceutical sector
- Knowledge of modelling applied to process development
- Track record of introducing and developing new technologies, including automation solutions
