As a Procurement Category Director, you will play a key role and will be a member of the Global Support Functions structure.
- (e.g. Filters, Single Use System, Resin). This position reports directly to the Senior Director, Procurement
- Glass, Biosciences and NPI/VE.
Due to the global reach of this role, it will ideally be based Belgium. Other locations (US and UK) will be considered. Flexible and remote working is available, global travel (up to 15%) may be required.
_ Your responsibilities:
_
- Manage a spend of up to £150m by creating comprehensive global sourcing strategies, operating with a truly global and strategic mindset.
- Build strategic relationships with a network of senior GSK global stakeholders, to understand business requirements, identify opportunities to create value and to position Procurement's value proposition. Align sourcing strategies accordingly.
- Provide leadership and line management to direct reports (Team of 5) and matrix teams (internally and externally, including third party). Provide strategic direction and oversight of the activities conducted by the team.
- Create compelling business cases for change and obtain approval to execute from GSK Supply Chain and/or other support functions (Finance, HR) senior management, and to agree how benefit delivery will be budgeted.
- Deliver global benefits identified in strategies through effective strategy execution, aligned to assurance of supply (risk management), compliance, quality, service, cost and innovation.
- Engage stakeholders, Finance and other relevant functions in the sourcing strategy delivery and execution.
- Build strategic relationships with key suppliers at a senior level and lead processes to ensure value is driven from these relationships Ensure BU considerations are accounted for in supplier relationships.
- Lead and direct category team within scope of responsibility.
- Build the organizational capabilities necessary to implement GSK strategy, now and in the future.
- Ensure appropriate communication strategy is in place and in use within the relevant Procurement and business customer networks.

- University degree, Master's Degree, MBA preferred.
- Prior extensive relevant experience in procurement, overseeing teams (experience in building happy, high performing and remote organization teams).
- Subject matter expertise in manufacturing procurement area of BioScience Materials.
- Previous regional/global function and experience in major pharma organization are preferred.
- Highly developed business acumen with demonstrated success in delivering a multiyear strategy ensuring competitive commercial advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to forge close business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contracting experience required. Skilled negotiator adept at leading complex negotiations.
- Good understanding of market drivers effecting category; strong commitment to keeping abreast of trends.
- Finely honed project and change management skills.
- Clear understanding business value, business priorities, and potential implementation risks.
- Experience managing the delivery of large projects and with endtoend service / operations management.
- Strong communicator with experience working in English speaking organization
- Proficiency in English.
- Ability to see the big picture and effectively prioritise short and long term objectives.
- Continually seeks improvement.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and problemsolving skills.
- Cultural sensitivity.
