Responsibilities:

  • WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART YOUR KEY FOCUS WILL BE
  • Utilise consumer trends and your unrivalled customer understanding to identify opportunities for category initiatives that generate joint growth for key customers and influence their buying behaviours.
  • Be an expert and the voice on Market, Category and Shopper trends across Spirits, aperitives and RTD
  • Support & upskill our commercial teams for them to confidently take a consultative category selling approach to their customers whilst developing and providing the necessary tools in order to do this.
  • Develop close working relationship with the internal Commercial Teams. Understand all commercial objectives and ensure regular communication between Cat Dev & Commercial Teams.
  • Proactively be part of the strategic planning process by contributing input for white spots in terms of portfolio and channel.
  • Independently develop & maintain strong category relationships with customers. Be flexible and creative in your approach as to how to best deliver this.
  • Independently develop & maintain strong category relationships with specific Grocery customers, providing recommendations for range reviews, space and merchandising, delivered through unbiased recommendations
  • Lead Category management agenda by developing ranging/assortment knowledge and build range rationale in our lead categories that can be used to educate and influence both internally and externally to primarily grow these categories whilst understanding the role of the BML portfolio.
  • Proactively use data from multiple sources (ie Nielsen, Kantar, Retailer Platforms) to assess the category situation, building recommendations and identifying opportunities to drive long term business growth
  • Provide reports to the business on customer and category trends & performance. Work with Customer & Consumer Marketing teams to inform and help them conduct channel review meetings and future commercial propositions.
  • Support with category and channel initiatives that generate joint business growth, working closely with cross functional partners
  • Track Distribution vs Targets and support Sales with opportunities to drive distribution gains and minimise losses
  • Manage data providers and get optimal return on investment
  • Support & upskill Marketing & Sales teams, providing regular reports to enable them to confidently take a consultative category selling approach to their customers
Skills and Experience

  • THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY
  • Strong ability to convert data & insights into action. Action orientated and pragmatic.
  • Understand and have experience of the off trade / retail environment along with all the influencing touchpoints including buyers & category managers relations.
  • Experience in Customer Marketing (e.g. Purchaser/Shopper Marketing, Category Management, Sales and Channel Strategy), preferentially in Category Management (at any level)
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to work with multiple continuous data sources and ad hoc research studies to produce actionable insights
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral. Proficiency in Dutch & English language skills French is welcomed skill as well
  • Strong Nielsen / IRI skills needed
  • Project management experience with strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise
  • Ability to present and convey information to a mix of large and small audiences whilst inspiring them in the process
