In the context of our continued growth, the team is looking for a: (full-time) Team Lead – Senior Scientist Mass Spectrometry with protein experience & a big heart for science.
You will be part of a privately-owned and ambitious organization at the forefront of scientific evolutions You will have a position with responsibility and opportunities to support your professional growth You will join a dynamic team in an international environmentkey responsibilities You manage and support the projects within the protein MS teamYou coach and assist team members in LC-MS based protein characterization and ensure adequate reporting to the high company standardYou scope new projects together with the customer and the commercial teamYou interact with your team to ensure proper project planning and executionYou are responsible for training of new team membersYou develop and apply innovative LC-MS methodologies for in-depth protein characterization at various development stagesYou handle complex and scientifically challenging projects for our industrial (e.g. biotech and pharma) and academic partners
qualifications Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmacy or equivalent qualification due to experienceA minimum of 8 years expertise in the fieldIn-depth scientific understanding of protein LC-MS (top-down, middle-down and bottom-up analysis)Hands-on experience with LC-MS data processing and structural characterization of proteinsGood knowledge of protein chemistry and protein separationsProven method development skillsDemonstrated experience in coaching and leading a team of expertsCritical mindset and good sense for initiative and attention to quality and detailFlexible team player and customer-oriented problem solverGreat communicator with excellent writing/reporting skillsAble to multitask and tackle complex scientific questions in a largely independent mannerComfortable interacting with customers (discussing requests, finetuning scope, presenting results)Dedicated to achieving project goals within scope, time and budgetFluent in English (written & oral)
