PM Group have a role for a BIM Technician to support our projects.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with multi-discipline Engineering\Design, Project Management and Construction Management teams.
Responsibilities
On a day-to-day basis, you will be involved in the following activities:
- Being responsible for producing the discipline models of assigned project(s) with a requirement to create them using BIM authoring tools.
- Being responsible for producing outputs from discipline models of assigned project(s) (drawings, schedules, renders, etc.)
- Producing accurate and structured drawings suitable for the final issue.
- Producing fully coordinated sets of drawings/details.
- Discussing coordination issues with designers and engineers and resolving them as instructed.
- Being able to undertake tasks arising from Clash Management activities such as: assigning clashes, supporting coordination meetings, reporting clash detection, etc.
- Being able to undertake tasks arising from the Model federation.
- Assisting in the set-up of the BIM project environment.
- The BIM Technician will report to the BIM Coordinator of assigned project(s) and, if needed, to the BIM Lead and the Belgium BIM Department Manager.
- Effective time management and execution of output within a defined timeline and budgetary constraints.
Production
- Manage, control and assure on-time delivery of drawings and models.
- Development of Discipline Models in line with company and client requirements.
- Assist in the transition of historic files from 2D to 3D models.
- Assist in the migration of files to BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud Design/Documents.
- Make changes using redlines.
- Ensure the self-work within the department is carried out accurately and with due diligence.
- Plan and organize self-work.
- Complete tasks received from BIM Coordinator and, if required, from Engineers.
- Check data inputs from other parties (sub-consultant, sub-contractors and/or own team) and resolve difficulties with data providers.
Quality Assurance
- Comply with both in-house and client Design Procedures.
- Perform with respect to all client security protocols.
- Assist in the audit of submitted files from the own team and/or other vendors/owners.
- Ensure compliance and adherence to Company EHS, QA/QC policies and systems.
- Be flexible to adopting the appropriate model and drawing standards and protocols to suit project requirements.
Communication
- Comply with both in-house and client Design Procedures.
- Contribute to BIM Coordination Meetings when needed.
- Contribute with the liaison with client representatives, project manager, site supervisors, the design team and/or own team to bring clarity to the scope of deliverables.
- Ensure effective, professional and appropriate communication at all times with design engineers and BIM team.
- Communicate and collaborate with the full multi-disciplinary BIM design team and others.
Others
- Assist with the internal training of all employees.
- Support onboarding for project participants regarding BIM.
- Assist in the implementation of 3D tools and the introduction of new technologies.
- Ensure continual improvement of an integrated management system, looking at new and future technologies.
- Support the written technology evaluations for future technology adoption that aligns with the project goals.
- Provide PM Group’s BIM Manager with weekly updates to keep aligned with the project schedule.
Qualifications
You will have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in a subject related to the construction industry
- Minimum of 3 years of experience within the engineering/construction industry
- Minimum of 2 years of experience within the BIM industry
- Experience in a construction-based role will be preferable
- Knowledge of LoD
- Good knowledge of English and Dutch
Your technical skills should be:
- Thorough understanding of computer systems and applications
- Excellent understanding of the modeling process
- Any other Autodesk software will be a plus
- Programming skills will be preferable (Dynamo, Forge)
- BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud Design and Docs
- BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud additional modules and products will be preferable

- Ability to produce accurate work to strict project deadlines

- Detailed oriented
- A team player - disruptive to the industry but not the team
- Ability to work on own initiative - can always find the next task rather than waiting to be assigned one
- Respectful to all and interact with helpful at all times
- Highly motivated and willing to develop your software skills
