Wij halen kritieke en waardevolle materialen zo efficiënt mogelijk uit afgedankte batterijen of productieschroot en brengen ze terug in de toeleveringsketen van batterijmaterialen. Hoe beter wij ons werk doen, hoe minder metalen er uit de natuur hoeven te worden gewonnen. Als Process Engineer voor BRS zal je meehelpen aan het design van de nieuwe Umicore Battery Recycling installaties van de toekomst, rekening houdend met de ambitieuze engagementen van Umicore in de Let’s Go For Zero strategie. Gebaseerd op procesinformatie vanuit CRD, zorg je enerzijds voor een correcte vertaling van de pure proceskennis van Umicore naar praktische gegevens waarop de engineering en technologie providers hun werk kunnen baseren. Daarnaast ondersteun je de praktische uitwerking van het design met gedetailleerde procesberekeningen en risico-analyses. Je  doet dit op de volgende manier:
* Je werkt, in nauwe samenwerking met de Process Engineering Manager, het proces voor de verschillende technologische stappen uit in block flow diagrammen, proces flow diagrammen, massa en energie balansen, proces beschrijvingen en digitale twins, gebaseerd op informatie van CRD, onderzoeksinstituten en technology providers.
* Je identificeert samen met het design team de benodigde testen en berekeningen om dit proces design te kunnen voltooien, werkt de aanpak en/of testprogramma’s uit, verwerkt de resultaten en rapporteert hierover aan de project manager.
* Je controleert en waar nodig corrigeert de procesdata van de betrokken technologie en engineering partners.
* Je voert specifieke procesberekeningen uit die nodig zijn om de engineering van de installaties te kunnen uitvoeren zoals bijvoorbeeld berekeningen van drukval, flowvereisten, materiaalselectie, …
* Je levert basis informatie aan voor het opstellen van de operationele kosten van de installaties en stelt een operationeel werkschema op.
* Tijdens commissioning en opstart volg je de proceschecks en testen op en stelt bij waar nodig.
* Je beheert de aan jou toegewezen apparatuur, materialen en software tools en bent tevens een aanspreekpunt voor het gebruik ervan.
* Je volgt nieuwe ontwikkelingen in het vakgebied door deelname aan beurzen, lezingen en congressen.
* Je informeert medewerkers betreffende nieuwe methodologieën, technologieën, producten en veiligheid. Profile Naar wie we op zoek zijn
Wij zijn op zoek naar een collega die …
* beschikt over een masterdiploma in de industriële ingenieurswetenschappen chemie, bio-ingenieur of soortgelijke diploma’s.
* een basiskennis bezit van materiaalleer, programmeren, procestechnieken en processturing. 
* zin heeft voor initiatief en probleemoplossend kan denken.
* Goed in team kan werken, flexibel en stressbestendig is.
* een aantoonbare en sterke interesse heeft in duurzaamheid en innovatie.
* duidelijk en gestructureerd kan rapporteren, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk.
* zeer vlot de Engelse taal beheerst in woord en geschrift. 
* vlot overweg kan met MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
* sterk is in presentatietechnieken of enthousiast is om dit zich volledig eigen te maken.
* zin heeft voor orde en nauwkeurigheid.
* bereid is om verplaatsingen te maken naar technologie en engineeringsbedrijven en de uiteindelijke locatie van de BRS recyclage plant (West-Europa).
* beschikt over de capaciteiten om op termijn door te groeien naar de functie van Process Engineering Manager of Equipment Engineer (leidinggevende functie of specialisatie in een bepaald vakgebied) Offer Wat we aanbieden
