About the position

As a Technical Product Expert, you build deep technical knowledge of our products, components, and complete powder coating systems.

You combine technical service, project follow-up, and product improvement. You are regularly present at customer sites, but also work closely with engineering, project management, and suppliers.

The core of your role is understanding our technical solutions and continuously improving them. You learn by participating in projects, commissioning, and technical interventions, and then translate that hands-on experience into better solutions, products, and processes.

Your responsibilities

Technical Expertise & Service

• You build up in-depth knowledge of our products, components, and complete installations.
• You support customers and service technicians with technical questions and more complex issues.
• You analyze malfunctions and look for solutions that go beyond merely addressing the symptoms.
• You regularly visit customers to investigate issues, commission installations, or provide technical follow-up.
• You also handle part of the practical service follow-up, such as sourcing and ordering parts, contacting suppliers, and scheduling interventions.

Project Follow-Up

• You are technically involved in projects from engineering through to commissioning and handover.
• You contribute ideas for technical solutions and provide feedback on drawings and detailed designs.
• You follow up on open technical points during project execution.
• You support the practical execution and preparation of projects where needed.
• During commissioning and testing, you review the operation of the system with a critical eye and identify potential improvements.

Product Improvement & Knowledge Building

• You investigate technical issues and identify their underlying root causes.
• You translate experiences from projects and service into concrete improvements for our products and systems.
• You explore alternative components, solutions, and working methods.
• You follow up on testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• You document technical knowledge, test results, and solutions to ensure they remain accessible within Coateq.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, analytical skills, and the curiosity to dive deep into complex systems.

For example, you have a background in electromechanics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a similar technical field, along with hands-on experience in a technical environment.

Additionally, you:

• work in an analytical and structured manner;
• take initiative and independently investigate technical questions;
• want to understand how technical systems really work;
• are hands‑on and not afraid to get involved in troubleshooting;
• bring not just problems, but also potential solutions to the table;
• communicate fluently in Dutch, French, and English;
• follow up on tasks and open points meticulously;
• enjoy working both independently and collaboratively with colleagues.
• Experience with industrial systems, machine building, automation, or powder coating systems is a strong plus.
