SQL Server DBA / Database Architect Location: Brussels city center - hybrid Start date: February 2026 Language: Strong English required + French or Dutch ideally ️Support: Occasional 24/7 (flexibility required) The Role We're looking for a Senior SQL Server DBA with an Architect mindset to join a high-level team managing and evolving our on-premises and Azure hybrid data platforms. You will wear a double hat: Server DBA + Application DBA, contribute to three ongoing strategic projects, and play a major role in database design, performance, reliability, and modernization. What You'll Do Administer, optimize, and secure SQL Server on-prem environments. Contribute to database architecture & solution design (HLD/LLD). Support major projects involving Azure SQL, Managed Instance, and modernization. Perform deep performance troubleshooting and tuning (instance + OS). Work closely with Dev DBAs and challenge SQL design & code when needed. Participate in 24/7 support rotations when required. Drive technical decisions, structure processes, and mentor team members. What You Bring Hard Skills 7–10+ years in SQL Server administration & engineering (critical OLTP). Strong Azure expertise: SQL DB, Managed Instance, NoSQL (MongoDB). Architecture & system-level knowledge (performance, security, troubleshooting). Solid T-SQL and developer-aware mindset. Experience with Windows Server & Active Directory. Soft Skills Strong communicator able to simplify complex concepts. Influential and collaborative decision-maker. Proven technical leadership and mentoring ability.
