Looking to start a new challenge as a freelancer? Get in touch now. What you will do Lead the technical vision and evolution of SQL Server platforms (on-prem & Azure). Act as Tier-3 escalation for complex performance, HA/DR and security issues. Coach System and Developer DBAs and drive technical governance. Shape and evolve frameworks for performance, security, and operations. Contribute to cloud industrialization (Azure SQL DB, Managed Instance, MongoDB). Design new database capabilities (HA/DR, backup/refresh, automation). Align with architects to translate high-level vision into detailed LLDs. Ensure solutions are supportable, documented, and compliant. What you bring 7–10+ years SQL Server engineering & administration in critical OLTP environments. Strong experience with Windows Server and Active Directory. Proven expertise in Azure SQL DB, Managed Instance and NoSQL (MongoDB). Deep performance tuning and troubleshooting skills (instance + OS level). Solid T-SQL understanding; able to challenge Developer DBAs. Experience creating HLD/LLD designs and governance frameworks. Technical leadership background (mentoring, decision-making, consensus-building). Bonus: SQL migrations, PowerShell, DevOps/Terraform, SSIS, Redgate, AppDynamics, TOGAF/Azure/SQL certs. Interested?
