DSO Entity is **looking for a Trainee on Legal matters supporting the association**

**Presentation of DSO Entity**

**DSO Entity represents over 900 electricity Distribution System Operators (DSOs) **of small, medium and large size, connecting 250+ million consumers across the 27 Member States of the European Union. Our European association aims to increase efficiencies in the electricity distribution networks in the EU and to ensure close cooperation with Transmission System Operators and ENTSO-E. As such, DSO Entity will take up a key role in the development and completion of the internal electricity market. It will act as a platform of cooperation between all the electricity DSOs with the overall objective of positioning itself as an expert body tackling essential matters such as **developing network codes & guidelines, promoting the optimal &** **coordinated planning and operation of DSO/TSO networks, and sharing of best practices **on flexibility, digitalisation of the distribution systems and the integration of renewable energy sources. DSO Entity was formally established in June 2021 after being legally mandated by the revision of the Electricity Regulation (2019/943) as part of the Clean Energy Package.

**Position Description**:
**Main responsibilities**:

- Provide support to the Legal Advisor in developing and reviewing legal and non-legal texts such as the draft proposals for the Network Codes and Guidelines, Terms and Conditions or Methodologies, Terms of Reference, Memorandum of Understandings, or statues.
- Assist the Legal Advisor in providing legal expertise on energy related questions to technical Experts Groups on cybersecurity, distributed flexibility, and/or data interoperability etc.
- Support the Legal Advisor in relation to providing legal support to the Strategy, Legal and Regulatory department.
- Provide support to the Legal Advisor on governance matters of the DSO Entity, i.e., development and interpretation of statues, rules of procedure, and terms and conditions.
- Conduct legal research and provide input for legal analyses and memos.

**Requirements**:

- University degree in law, preferably with additional specialisation in EU law. Experience in EU energy law and/or cybersecurity law are an asset.
- Thorough understanding of EU processes, decision-making and EU-related organisations.
- Basic understanding of the functioning of the energy system and/or demonstrated interest in energy law is an asset.
- Fluency in English and another European language.
- Ability to learn fast and adapt to a variety of tasks.
- Flexible team player, dynamic and eager to work in a busy and intense European

multicultural environment.
- Highly motivated to engage in the energy transition and in the setup of a new association.
- You are Brussels-based or willing and able to relocate shortly.
