The European DIGITAL SME Alliance is tasked to represent and support the main driver of such changes in Europe - small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the ICT sector. Representing over 45,000 SMEs through its national and regional member associations, DIGITAL SME is Europe’s first and largest ICT SME association. Along with the rapid acceleration of Europe’s digital transformation, the Alliance is growing and in need of a highly motivated Communications Officer to strengthen our Brussels-based team
**Your role and responsibilities**
- You will manage the organisation’s communications efforts through different channels: website, social media accounts, ad-hoc campaigns, advocacy activities, events, etc.;
- You will develop and implement DIGITAL SME communications strategy across different media, including by drafting of articles, press releases, social media posts, newsletters and other pieces of content;
- You will ensure the visibility and promotion of the Association’s events, together with the Events and Communications (including livestreaming, reporting and coverage on social media);
- You will refine the DIGITAL SME brand identity and ensure its consistency across different media;
- You will provide advice and support to the Project Management team in communication tasks for a variety of EU funded projects;
- You will design a variety of promotional materials for social media, website, events and DIGITAL SME services (digital and print);
- You will contribute to promoting DIGITAL SME services, in collaboration with the Business Development Officer;
- You will manage the WordPress website back office: updating pages, creating/editing posts, etc;
- You will build and expand press relations.
**Required profile and skills**:
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar role;
- Excellent level of spoken and written English. Fluency in another language is an asset, preferably French or German;
- Excellent drafting and editing skills;
- Experience managing social media and using CMS (WordPress) and CRM software;
- Experience with graphic design and video editing software (Canva, Affinity, etc);
- A team player attitude and a pro-active approach to work;
- Ability to work in a hands-on, autonomous manner and establish good relationships with all the members of the team;
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy;
- Excellent organisational skills and outstanding time management;
- Able to learn and take responsibility quickly and proactively;
- Understanding of EU Institutions’ functioning is an asset;
- Problem solving skills and sense of humour
- Legally eligible to work in Belgium.
***Work Conditions**
As our Communications Officer, you will be part of a dynamic, international team. Our office is in the heart of the EU district in Brussels, easily accessible by public transportation. Since the pandemic, we have established a hybrid work model, where the team works partly from the office, partly remotely. Flexible working hours are also part of the deal - the Alliance’s organisational culture is result
- rather than control-driven.
We offer a full-time, permanent contract and a competitive salary package in line with your skills and level of experience.
Short missions abroad within the EU will be possible in the foreseeable future.
