Ageas Group Risk is based in Brussels & is composed of risk and modelling officers (M/F) with a variety of technical expertise and background. You will be a member of the Ageas Group Financial Risk team, with a focus on developing and maintaining the Group’s Internal Model for Market Risk, as well as contributing to the general Financial Risk framework.

**Je functie**:
We are looking for a Financial Risk professional with both a solid quantitative background, as well as good knowledge of financial markets and the insurance industry.

You will become part of a multidisciplinary team composed of financial and actuarial professionals whose main task is to ensure the development and embedding of Group models and policies related to Financial Risk.

Your tasks will be situated in the following domains:
**Internal Model**:

- You perform model runs on a quarterly and ad-hoc basis, in a manner consistent with the requirements of our internal clients.
- You perform testing of the model on an ongoing basis in order to validate the model’s outcomes.
- You communicate openly & transparently on the model’s features, capabilities & properties in order to engage the wider Ageas community.

**Development**:

- You do quantitative research & formulate methodological approaches for forecasting financial risk factors relevant to a European composite insurer based on evolving model requirements.
- You develop replicating approach for efficient valuation of life insurance liabilities with embedded options, including further research in advanced statistical techniques.

**Implementation & Testing**
- You maintain and implement a Real Word Economic Scenario Generator, responsible for the supporting tools revaluation of the economic balance sheet, and the reporting of model outcomes.
- You develop a suite of user friendly & transparent testing tools for testing & validating model outcomes.
- You design & enhance a model test plan, and perform model testing accordingly.

**Je profiel**:

- You have 1 to 3 years of relevant working experience working in the financial industry (insurance, banking, asset management);
- You have a knowledge of Financial Markets, Financial Valuation & Modelling, Market Risk Management, Financial Regulation (Solvency II, Basel III/CRD IV,);
- You possess prior experience & proven competence in implementing mathematical models in MATLAB, R, C/C++/C#, Python;
- You are culturally aware and able to work in team with people with different backgrounds;
- You have excellent communication skills, both written and orally and are able to present complex materials in a structured and comprehensive way;
- You are strongly motivated to learn, proactive, flexible, dedicated and able to work on an independent basis;
- You possess strong coordination, planning and organizational skills;
- You are a result-oriented problem solver;
- You have an active (written and oral) knowledge of English.
