Over the last 15 years, La Lorraine Bakery Group has grown by 10% year-on-year on average. The organisation operates from 12 production sites in Belgium, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania and Turkey and exports to over 25 countries using its own sales subsidiaries. The organisation has four business units**:Bakery Fresh **delivers fresh bread and pastries to over 1,000 supermarkets daily. The **Bakery Frozen **division offers a wide range of high-quality and innovative bake-off bakery products tailor-made for professional customers. **Bakery Store Concepts**, which you undoubtedly will know from the Panos and Deliway brands. The **Milling** division, better known as Paniflower, is one of the largest flour producers in Belgium and specialised in the milling of wheat and rye.
To support its further international growth and pursuit of product leadership, La Lorraine Bakery Group has created a vacancy for the function of **Group Energy and Utilities Manager.**
**Your function:**:As a Group Energy and Utilities Manager, you will be responsible to define and implement the strategy to understand and improve the energy and utilities at Group level and to be the leader to guide La Lorraine into the Carbon transition. In this role, you will be responsible to set up a program to monitor, analyse and optimise all energy usage in the different international production sites, set up and implement the best maintenance methods for the existing utilities as well as initiate and lead several strategic improvement projects.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include the following:
- You will be responsible to design and implement a structured approach to monitor, analyse and improve all energy usage for all production sites of the Group. For this you will work closely with the local Technical Service Managers and Energy/Utility Engineers across the various sites and make best possible use of the Scada systems available in the sites;
- You will support to obtain the right operation and the right maintenance of all utilities;
- You will lead the transition towards carbon neutral operation of La Lorraine Bakery Group, where you will be part of defining this Roadmap and will be in the lead to execute it;
- You will be responsible to define and implement La Lorraine Bakery Group's Energy Management Strategy in order to continuously improve the consumptions until stretched goals can be formulated and reached;
- You will be responsible to set up and implement continuous improvement projects and continuous improvement processes across the various sites. For this you will train and manage the local teams;
- You will ensure that new engineering projects are implemented with the right fit into the existing utilities and with the correct focus on the roadmap for energy and utilities. For this you will work together and get support from specialised external suppliers when required;
- Using your expertise and insight regarding energy and utilities combined with inspirational leadership, you will act as a change agent to achieve energy improvement measures which can be applied throughout the organisation and will be adopted by everyone.
You will report to the Group Technical Service Manager and work closely together with the specialists from Group Engineering and in the different sites.
**Your profile**:
- You have a technical educational background (e.g. civil engineer), 5 to 10 years’ relevant experience within energy management and improvement as well as managing the operations and/or maintenance of utilities within a complex, industrial manufacturing context;
- You have full understanding of the ongoing transition towards carbon free operations (within the climate change challenge)
- You have broad knowledge of different large scale utilities (cooling NH3, CO2, steam, hot water, air-pressure, CO2,) and able to learn fast on others;
- Experience in fast moving industry (food or similar) and/or experience in a multi-site environment is a plus;
- As a good negotiator, you know how to approach the possible tension between the local plants and the Group within an expanding organisation;
- You combine a well-developed analytical and conceptual approach which you can translate well on the shop floor;
- Next to your good knowledge of the technical elements, you have a pragmatic, no-nonsense and entrepreneurial personality;
- You are solution-oriented but can also think on a tactical and strategic level;
- You have well-developed leadership skills and are familiar with indirect leadership and managing teams remotely;
- You are flexible, dynamic, decisive, driven and you offer a high level of service;
