The Sr Project Portfolio Manager is part of a team responsible for the enablement and support of several projects and portfolio management capabilities in the pharmaceutical industry, including schedule management, resource management, financial management, portfolio management, and performance reporting through KPI follow-up.

The role reports to the Portfolios Director.

**Responsibilies**
- Manage day-to-day portfolio activities and Project management of multiple projects at all stages of the project lifecycle (from initiation to implementation)
- Drive scope and requirements gathering, option analysis and design of end-to-end business processes & business solutions
- Contributes to the definition of project management methodologies and standards that govern project planning, execution, and reporting.
- Provides trusted guidance and support the organization in building quality program schedules that adhere to established standards and best practices.
- Proactive issue & risk management
- Definition of project plans including the identification of key project activities, business & project resource requirements and critical path
- Proactive tracking of project schedule to agreed targets
- Facilitate project reviews and checkpoint meetings
- Lead project ensuring project scope is managed, project objectives are met and an appropriate level of detail is applied
- Ensures high quality plans are created and maintained to effectively manage program execution, measure performance, and enable decision quality
- Analyze key performance indicators to produce reports on portfolio and projects
- Escalate issues that threaten portfolio and project success
- Provides ad hoc systems administration and support to end-users requiring assistance.
- Develops and leads training sessions for new Project Managers on the use of PM toolsets, processes, and standards.
- Drive execution of internal projects
- Coordinate project management resources
- Coordinate cross line of business initiatives

**Requirements**:
**Job Requirements**:

Bachelor degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- An advanced degree (MSc, PhD), PMP certification, Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent is a plus.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as a project manager leading cross-functional project teams in a matrixed, global environment, including those with complex technical, geographic, and/or regulatory elements.
- Min 10+ years’ experience in Engineering projects in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong project scheduling expertise utilizing scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project.
- Experience managing project portfolios
Enterprise Program Management Office (PMO) experience a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, excel, Outlook, Project)

**Competencies**:

- Strong management skills (organize workloads, delegate effectively, motivate)
- Experience organizing and managing €10+ million programs/projects
- Experience managing several large, high-profile projects concurrently
- Remaining current with rapidly evolving internal and external policies and procedures
- Able to combine aggressive initiative with professional discipline and demeanour to accomplish difficult tasks through other people
- Innovative and forward-thinking
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills
- Fluent in French / English
- Belgium located
- Experience in Six Sigma/Lean methodologies is a plus
- Knowledge of financial processes, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and pharmaceutical industry regulations is highly desirable
- Takes initiative and provides leadership in solving problems, improving processes
- Budget tracking and financial forecasting
- Ability to lead, inspire and enable others.
