ING is a global bank with operations in over 40 countries. To better take advantage of the collective strengths of all the individual entities, improve speed of innovation and time-to-market, ING is starting a path of convergence towards one digital banking platform. Countries with similar value propositions will harmonise their business models and develop shared operating platforms. The ultimate goal is becoming one ING.
As an important step in realising this worldwide ambition, ING Belgium and ING Netherlands are the first two ING countries that will join forces. This will result in one banking platform, one set of systems, one set of products, one strategy, one way of working and one organisation. By 2021 the integration will be finalised. Since January 2018, the shared cross-border organisation started. This includes all the Tribes and Centers of Expertise that will have an identical way of working (agile) and that will be end-to-end responsible for the activities in their specific area within both countries. Communications & Brand Experience is one of the Centers of Expertise that is part of the cross-border organisation.
The Center of Expertise Communications
The Center of Expertise (CoE) Communications is a cross-border organisation with over 150 people. The purpose of the CoE is to maximize the engagement of all stakeholders to become a true love brand. The Center of Expertise is organised in four Areas:
- Internal & External Communications
- Branding, Advertising & Sponsoring
- Media Relations & Stakeholder Management
- Sustainability
The Area Brand Experience, Advertising & Sponsoring
The Area covers all branding, advertising & sponsoring activities and strategy in Belgium and the Netherlands. The Area is headed by an Area Lead that is end-to-end responsible for Branding, Advertising & Sponsoring in both countries and reports to the overall CoE-Lead.
Within the Advertising area, the Social Media Expert will report to the Expert Lead Social Media and will work closely with Campaigns, Media & Content teams.
Digital (Social) Media expert
For our Social & media team, we are looking for a Social Media expert. Our team makes customers’ life easier by creating relevant and performing connections with them. We are the initiator and amplifier of ING conversations. We connect in a transparent way, at the right moment, through diverse channels in order to inform and create differentiating experiences. By watching and adapting to trends, measuring and continuously optimising what we do, we contribute to the bank’s positioning and create true ING ambassadors. Based on the right audience, content, creative and strategy, you constantly work on maximizing campaign impact, in close cooperation with ING’s media and creative agencies. You will report to a wide range of internal stakeholders.
**Responsibilities**:
Key is your ability to understand the needs of the Brand & business and translate these into successful campaigns.
- Design and implement the social media strategy to position ING on the social media channels
- Build the ING editorial line on social media channels in close collaboration with the Content & Channels Team
- Manage and optimize high performing social media campaigns ( for both social media strategies and creative assets)
- Coach and advise our stakeholders to enable them to create their social media campaigns
- Detect and share opportunities, trends and innovations to empower our stakeholders to develop state-of-the-art communications
- Monitor ING presence on social media to manage its reputation and gather customers feedback
- Guide and collaborate with the webcare teams ( customer service) to improve the interactions with our prospects and customers (community management)
- Challenge the media agency on social media campaigns
- Define and launch A/B experiments to assess the effectiveness of advertising spend
- Work closely with different stakeholders to optimize campaigns towards defined KPIs

- Bachelor or Master degree in marketing or other relevant degree
- 3 years professional experience
- Data driven attitude: to create more relevant campaigns but also to be able to monitor results in depth
- Strong prioritizing skills in fast paced environment
- Excellent level in Dutch, French and English spoken and written
- Creative approach to problem solving; always looking for improvements
- Proven experience of developing and implementing social media campaigns and a succ
