Our client is a company in **industrial chemicals**.
The following are the **major responsibilities of this position**:
- Interim (quarterly) and annual external reports, containing consolidated income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows, as well as mandatory disclosures, in collaboration with the Group Consolidation Manager;
- Ensuring that accounting, consolidation, and financial reporting comply with all applicable laws and regulations (primarily IFRS);
- Review of required monthly balance sheet reconciliations, which include multi-currency transactions and intercompany circumstances;
- Assist the Group Consolidation Manager with accounting issues such as IFRS16 and tax positions (deferred). Examine and evaluate any other (IFRS) principles that are or could be relevant to our customer. Financial accounting issue analysis and judgement, as well as thorough documentation, are required.
- Ensuring that specified deadlines are met during the consolidation and reporting process;Maintain the IFRS Accounting & Financial Economic Manual and ensure that it is correctly applied across the Group, including adherence to the Standard Chart of Accounts;
- Assisting local finance teams with technical accounting challenges;
- Assisting with the coordination and smooth running of the external audit process;
- Preparing Purchase Price Allocations (PPA), necessary position papers, and suitable consolidation reflection.
- Assist with periodic analysis that is required, such as impairment testing or pension accounting;
- Oversee the consolidation's integration of newly acquired firms;
- Monitor the Group and local statutory accounts reconciliation.
The **requested qualifications** for this job include:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a reporting, accounting or auditing role.
- Sound basic knowledge of IFRS.
- Process-driven, with excellent financial analytical and accounting skills.
- Highly organized, accurate and structured, able to work well under stress, handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity in working with consolidation processes and with consolidation systems such as SAP BPC or OneStream(our client uses OneStream since 2021).
- Strong educational background, university degree level in Economics or Accountancy.
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office.
- Cultural awareness: used to working with different cultures and in multiple countries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and confidence to convey information colleagues across the globe.
- Hands-on mentality and proactive attitude.
- Team-player, you are part of a high performing team.
