We are looking for a passionate aviation claims handler. A high quality of claims handling is critical to AXIS’ reputation and is a key differentiating factor in the highly competitive insurance and reinsurance markets. The claims handler contributes directly to AXIS’ performance in this area.
AXIS’ claims department handles losses located in various countries across the world. You will mainly be responsible for the administration but also management of claims of different insureds in the aviation sector (airlines, manufacturers, private operators, groundhandlers etc).
In your job you will focus on the following tasks:
- Analysing new and outstanding
- _LIABILITY_ (General liability, Passenger liability, Corporate, Product liability),
- _HULL_,
- _PERSONAL ACCIDENT_ claims- Ensuring the timely resolution of claims in coordination with internal and external parties- Verifying and analysing expert and legal reports- Maintaining, updating and following-up on claims files- Pro-actively communicating developments and outcomes to all key internal and external stakeholders- Initiating claims payment- Ensuring overall satisfaction of the broker and client and a fair claim settlement- Cooperating with the Underwriting and Operations team

Law-firms- Essential: Strong interest in aviation and willingness to learn about the sector- Preferred: Education: Insurance degree / job relevant degree- Career level: Experience in a claims department (non-life) in an insurance or brokerage firm preferred- Necessary: Languages: Dutch, English, French (CEFR Level C). German: proficiency would be an asset- Ideal: Experience with Xchanging or Docosoft
