Junior Lab Technician

In this position you will focus on the synthesis part of our large scale and custom-made oligonucleotides, the cleavage from the solid support and the deprotection. Each oligonucleotide is considered a custom synthesis and requires individual preparation and handling what makes the job a challenge every day
In addition to the science part, we are hoping to find a standout colleague who is proficient in English, has an eye for detail, can prioritize work independently and most of all has the eager to join a warm team in a modern, international, varied and encouraging environment.
**Responsibilities**:
Perform the synthesis, cleavage from the solid support and deprotection of oligonucleotides.
Operate DNA/RNA synthesizers and other instruments in the lab.
Assist in the processing and documentation of all orders and projects.
Keep all the reagent bottles, pressurized gas cylinders and manifold liquid systems at levels to achieve successful operation.
Change waste containers and dispose of waste material.
Perform all vital decontamination procedures.
Appropriately document all aspects of production.
Fill out all checklists and perform verification for others when needed.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a science related field or equivalent through experience.
Excellent digital literacy which includes knowledge of the Internet, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Ability to be on feet a few hours at a time.
Be open to changes in the process.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Phenomenal multi-tasking skills.
Interact in a professional manner with customers, co-workers and all levels of management.
Ability to work in a group or independently.
Read, write and speak English fluently. Dutch is a bonus.
